What each add-on buys, and its catch
How this works. Riders and supplementary benefits are the "extras" that customize a base policy. Riders add to the death benefit (PUA, term, family/child, accidental death, guaranteed insurability); supplementary benefits pay out before death (terminal illness, critical illness, dismemberment, waiver of premium). Each carries its own premium, usually cheaper bundled than as a stand-alone policy because only one policy fee is charged. The chart shows each add-on's incremental annual cost; the list underneath pairs the coverage it buys with the main limitation or exclusion to watch.
